When faced with extreme wear and tear conditions, ETPU is the material of choice to best tackle these challenges. ETPU is a super elastic, extremely resilient material that offers maximum abrasion resistance. The closed-cell, elastic particle foam combines the properties of TPU with the advantages of foams, making it as elastic as rubber but lighter.
Because of ETPU’s excellent mechanical properties, low weight and high durability, it can be used for extreme applications including airless bicycle tires. ETPO also maintains its high elasticity and softness over a wide temperature range so can be used even at below freezing temperatures.
ETPU has an excellent soft-touch, ductile quality that makes it an excellent material for running shoe insoles. Because it almost completely returns the supplied energy, it makes for comfortable walking as well as running.
ETPU is nontoxic, water resistant, and washable so can be used to make super tough yet soft and spongy pet dog toys. ETPU is more durable than most other expandable thermoplastics so can be used to make pet toys that are practically indestructible.
